Orpheus

- Thracian hero and demi-god
- some say his father is Apollo
- A master at singing
-  it was said that his singing could tame animals move stones and cliffs
- married Euridice
- Pan came and pursued Euridice and she was bitten by a snake and died
- Orpheus went to retrieve her from the Underworld from Hades and Persephone, and succeeded, but he couldn't look at her again.
- Some women knew he was "avaliable" and tried to persuade him into liking one of them. one day them got very angry and tore him into pieces.
- The Muses buried his pieces at Libethra, but his head still remained lodged to a rock, giving oracles
